The median pay award across the economy has risen from 5.0% to 5.3% in the three months to September 2023, according to our latest research. Nearly half (46%) of increases were worth 6% or more, which is up from a proportion of 35% in August. Higher-end pay awards at this level have continued across the private sector but outcomes in the public sector have also influenced the latest picture on pay.
