The latest labour market figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show continued softening in key indicators, notably employment, unemployment and inactivity. And vacancies are down while redundancies are up. Although none of the changes are large, the trend in most cases is towards a gradual slackening, which could gather pace if economic conditions worsen.
