Inflation falls but food and housing costs rise

Inflation has fallen on all three measures in the year to September 2024, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The latest figures show that the Government’s main measure of inflation – Consumer Prices Index (CPI) – has fallen from 2.2% in August to 1.7%, which is below the Bank of England’s target for inflation of 2.0%......
