We live in complicated times, even or perhaps especially for those concerned with pay and conditions. This issue of Pay Climate highlights some of the topics that are high up the reward agenda – inflation, pay gaps for protected characteristics, and the labour market, alongside our regular features on pay award trends and the outlook for increases in the cost of living. But we also make mention of the important background elements, the most prominent of which is probably the rise in employer NICs. Assessing the effects of this on pay outcomes is important. We have conducted a poll on it and we will share the findings with you shortly. But our regular monitoring of pay reviews is a vital part of our analysis and reporting, so please help us on this front by responding to the IDR team’s queries.
