Pay awards are holding up, to some extent anyway, although the rate of inflation is lower. This largely reflects the continued significance of cost-of-living issues as well as labour market effects. Inflation could bounce back a little, but probably nowhere near the record levels of last year. This issue examines all these topics in some detail, along with detailed features on minimum rates of pay, maternity and paternity leave and pay, and pay for graduates and apprentices. As always, we hope you find it useful, and do please keep answering our researchers’ requests for information. Without your help, the Pay Climate service would be merely a figment of our imagination!
