The foremost concerns in the minds of most people with responsibility for pay-setting at the moment are inflation and the labour market, and appropriately enough, these are the topics on which we concentrate in this issue of Pay Climate. We also include analysis of outcomes in retail, itself an area that is subject to these pressures in a variety of ways. Experiences that will hopefully be a good guide for decision-makers elsewhere.
