Ken has 20 years’ experience in monitoring and reporting on pay, employment and the labour market and was formerly the Head of Pay & Research Services at IDS. Here he led the pay and research teams and was Editor of the monthly journal IDS Pay Report, the ‘Pay & Reward’ element of the ids.thomsonreuters.com online service, and a range of specialist reports, including ‘Pay in the public services’, ‘Pay and conditions in call centres’, ‘Pay and conditions in engineering’ and ‘Pay and conditions in retail’.
As well as reporting on reward developments across the economy , his teams were responsible for compiling the data that appeared in IDSPay.co.uk, the former online pay benchmarking from IDS.
During his time at IDS Ken covered pay developments across the private and public sectors and he was closely involved in a large number of research projects for a variety of external clients. He speaks to a wide range of audiences on pay issues, and regularly broadcast on radio and TV.

Ken holds an MSc in social research methods from the London School of Economics, where he also took modules in industrial relations. His primary degree is from Trinity College, Dublin.
